Why Eat Local
Living in Minnesota, the seasons drive our food and appetites. To quote Beth Dooley from her book “The Northern Heartland Kitchen,” “To eat local means to pay attention to light, temperature, and the land’s bounty. When our appetites follow the arc of the sun, we bring balance to our plates.”
By supporting local farmers, we are helping sustain diversity in our community. The food is fresher, and more nutritious, and knowing the people who grow your food is important. We live in a collective ecosystem that provides a rich variety of food; from the flour mills that helped grow Minneapolis to the place it is today, to the farmers and land that provide pasture raised meats and vegetables. They also assist in land and water management, keeping the soil healthy, and work to teach younger generations of all backgrounds to keep farming local and sustainable.
Our commitment to buying local, developing relationships, and bringing delicious food to your table is our goal.
